So does anyone else who was the Merrick Bank Double Your Line unsecured card get an e mail about upgrades to your card? I got this e mail yesterday and I am eager to know what the charges are? I run a great deal through it monthly and always pay in full before my statement cuts and I have had it for a year now. Just curious on if anyone knows what it might be?I tried to attach a screenshot of the e mail but it said the file was to big.
TIA

If the file is too big, you can size it down using any image editing program on a computer or smartphone; if you need suggestions, let me know!
Why not just copy/paste the text from the e-mail? You may need to remove any extraneous formatting before the board will accept it, but it's not a big deal.
At the very least, please let us know WHAT the e-mail actually said! Upgrades? Changes? How did they word it? Was there a link to follow for more information?

I don't mean to be a debby-downer, but I highly doubt it's anything truly exciting. Probably just a refresh of the card image, or *maybe* they're adding rewards. Either way, I don't have high hopes. I'm still canceling mine eventually unless they remove the AF.
@betax wrote:I got this email too. I have a Merrick Visa. My guess would be that the card is changing from a Visa card to a MasterCard. This is just a guess based off of the MasterCard symbol shown on the unsecured card of the Merrick site.
You're getting an upgrade!whatch your inbox for exciting news
Hello Betax4,
There are exciting changes just around the corner for your Merrick Bank account!Watch for another email in the next week - we'll be in touch with everything you need to know. Thanks for being a Merrick Bank customer!
Thank you for posting the contents of the message. It's rather vague, and I agree with @OmarGB9 that the 'changes' probably aren't that great, but keep us posted once you've received that follow-up message!

I have mericc bank visa card since 2012 with cl of 3150 and no annual fee. I called Merric bank was told that in July I will get new card which will be on mastercard system. Now the question is history going to show up in credit reports or this going show as new account.
so there basically gonna send a new master card same apr same everything new account number on the master card network. my ? is will it be a whole new account or will we keep our old history? so lame lol 4 to 6 weeks will receive our new cards but I'm wondering should I pull the plug before it changes because Fingerhut caused me 30 points by reporting a new tradeline. Forgot to mention I just was approved for navy fed platinum and opened a second self-help account so Fingerhut which I closed made 3 new accounts 1-month-old sunk my scores . a good thing happened today though as I gained 40 + points for paying 760.00 off with Merrick bank and 220 with jcp they reported today yay....
As others have said, I wouldn't get to excited. I've had the card a while now and besides the doubled line, very little has happened in the years I've had the card. The last bump was over two years ago. Never late, always PIF... Maybe not next on the chopping block, but not far off...

Sometimes lenders will also send a private message to you on your account page in addition to the email. check it and see.
If not i personally would not hesitate to call them and explain i cant open the email and ask what it was.
All-
The email from Merrick finally came and my thoughts are correct. They will be sending out a MasterCard to replace the current Visa card. They also mention until June first if you want to change color of card.
Per email it will not be reported as a new account just updated car number ect.
