On lunch break, 3:35 minute phone call, 0% apr 12 monrh promo on my Chrome
I decided to join the bandwagon and message discover. Apr went from 15.24% to 12.24%. I'm happy.
Reading this thread inspired me to check my rate. It's 12.99%
In January 2020 I asked for lower APR and they dropped me from 17.29 to 14.49. So the drop from 14.49 to 12.99 was internal and Discover didn't tell me.
Prior to me asking for the rate drop in Jan, I saw on older statements it was as high as 18.49 and as low as 16.24.
I am bucketed on this Discover It card at $1000. It is my 2nd oldest open credit card and has my lowest CL. Every CLI request results in denial due to "status of current or previous card" dialogue. My brain has forgotten the details but apparently I had a card with Discover in the past that I settled in 2011. They gave me another card in 2015, which is obviously bucketed. Before discovering this forum I had no idea why I was stuck at 1k.
According to a Discover rep in the higher echelons of customer relations I might see the CLI spiggots open at the end of 2021 when the older card settlement hits 10 years. I don't use this card anymore but it does have a negative 31 cent balance and 7 bucks rewards due me.
I also I have a 0% balance transfer offer. Very nice of them but with 1k CL I don't know how I would use it without screwing up utilization.
It was eye opening for me to go back to those old statements that show my current FICO scores. I knew they had increased since I educated myself (thanks MyFico) but holy smokes. From high 600s/low 700s to 812 on my latest Discover ststement.
