Thanks everyone. I was a little bummed about the Macy's card but every cloud has its silver lining!
Hey congrats. What were your score like when applying for Macy's? And inquiries?

Here are my results:
Macy's (wanted the Amex but they said store card only) : CL $900
Chase Freedom: got the 30 day response, called bd told it was declined due to paid state tax lien. CSR was really nice, I told her it was from 2006 and it was taking care of - just had to resend tax return- lien released in 2007. She asked about my inq (6)
I purchased a car last Apr, 2 were from opening an account at CU's and the other 3 were from Chase (I really wanted that Freedom ). She put me on hold and said I had to call verifications on Monday. Approved $3000! I was expecting $500 since they like to start people off low.
DCU- we have been members since 2005- never applied for their CC products but since I've heard positive results from the forum - we decided to pull the trigger for their Visa. Spoke with a rep this morning - Approved $10,000 CL@ @9.5% and since they had me on the phone they offered to refi my car for 1.99%! It was so easy, I already e-signed the docs!
I am definitely going to Lowe's for some potting soil! I will be in the garden for awhile!
Congrats!
I know where you are coming from with Chase starting out at $500. Last year when I applied, I have to recon. I thought for sure that I got $500 after recon, it was for 2k. I recon again they used same report, got 3.7k CL starting out. After 5 months, it's at 4.2 CL, I'm happy with chase and continue to give them love about 1k a month.
Been giving love to Amex Green also along with chase for about 1k a month and finally got approved for BCE.
