Mini app-spree

Went on a little mini app spree.  Probably shouldn't have, but its nothing I cannot live with.  Got approved for a few cards that will see quite a bit of use from me.

HSBC rewards card - $600.  (stupidly applied for this one first, because I thought it'd be the only one I could get.  Did it to get rid of my CapOne card that has an AF)

Paypal Extras - $1500.

Lowe's Store Card - $500.

Home Depot Store Card - Originally $500.  Recon'd it up to $1500.

Sears Store Card - $2000. (will attempt a recon for $3000 as soon as the card arrives)

Also FINALLY got Walmart to give me a CLI.  From $400 to $700.

I didn't get anything too fancy, but dammit, it makes me feel good to finally be approved for a limit over $500.  Plan is to sit in the garden now for a while, and hopefully get a BCE in January.

Congrats!  If five new CCs is a "mini" app-spree, what constitues a full sized app-spree?

Re: Mini app-spree

i guess i dont really view it as a big app spree, because the inq's are spread around. 2-2-1.

I'd used that before I think with regards to getting 3 cards in my postings, but maybe that's not applicable either now that you mention it.

Personally I think credit card apps falls under the 0, 1, or more tha one rule... with more than one being an app-spree; but mini app-spree vs. full monty, I don't know.  I'd think 5 would be full, but where does the line get drawn?  Guess time to clean up my own nomenclature.

OP: congrats on the approvals!

I thought HSBC sold all accounts in the US to Cap1?  You could end up with Cap 1 anyways...

Nice spree Smiley Happy  I got my sites on BCP for next June.

Re: Mini app-spree

I found out about the whole HSBC/CapOne deal after i applied.  Doesn't matter too much though, as long as they dont stick me with a card that has an AF.  That is the main thing I am trying to avoid.  Once I get in better with AmEx (enough to get a BCE), I'll be cancelling my Zync as well, because of the AF.

HSBC basically held on to their prime offerings, like their PREMIER World MasterCard, Cash or Fly Rewards Card, and their regular Platinum MasterCard.

For the record, you can't even apply for their old subprime products online anymore.
