@CorpCrMgr1 wrote:...I think the Forums shot itself in the foot when it removed some non posters. Others, that hadn't been here on here in almost ten years were not taken off. I responded to a nine year old post. The Mod messaged me stating I would not receive a reply since the poster was obviously gone. The posting was then locked. Some posters are worth more than others. My two year hiatus lost me my former time and name. There are postings for CC that no longer exist. Some haven't for years! I have yet to receive a reply to three messages sent to the Mods.
The removal of dormant accounts was a series of automated tasks, and is likely ongoing. Also, keep in mind that while a user may not have posted in many years, that does not necessarily mean that they have not logged into the forums or a linked myFICO account in that time. Your beef is with a computer; no one actively made a decision to single out your account for removal.
Unless the message you received was to your prior account at least 15 months ago, it's extremely unlikely that the person who sent you that message was a moderator as the Khoros moderation team (in place a year before your current account was created) do not interact with the community. It has been the policy of the myFICO Forums since its inception that old threads were locked to further replies after a period of one year; these slip through the cracks more often without active moderation as this was a manual process that we would complete on a schedule.

This forum is supposed to be helpful not just a place to brag. When new users pop up out of no where with an awesome approval to report but then they don't give any data, it's kind of like a slap in the face for those looking to possible apply for whichever card it may be...
I know there aren't rules but can someone please mention something about folks at least including some datapoints. My good lord..
I can't really say I have noticed a significant decline in people listing data along with their approvals. It's certainly not down to 10%. For fun, I went to the Approvals sub-forum and looked at the first 10 approvals (ignoring CLIs) and 8 out of 10 had at least some DPs included. At least 5 had quite a bit of data.
I love the passionate conversation.
I was on this forum back in 2015. And then bad things happened and covid. So I stuck my head in the same and then in 2023 I'm back. Things changed for sure as all things. Everyone is spread thin. Some people openly share some don't. I know I'm hesitant because of increase in scammers and data breaches. Just today I had a CLI I posted and because I wanted to give a much as I receive I have my data points. I thought hmmm maybe I shouldn't give my income etc. I thought of this thread and did post. There are more scammers these days and that should be part of the assessment and equation. Just good for thought.
@mgoodThe change implemented that restrict how long we have to edit a post were a major downgrade. I don't even know what the time limit is. I saw one post where someone was able to edit at 11hrs and change so it's got to be at least 12 hours, but nonetheless that was a big mistake imo for that change to be made (my assumption is that Khoros made that change after they took over moderation).
Edit: found a thread where it looks like it's 24hrs.
I didn't know I could edit at all, lol. seem to be able to underline. I had one post edited off completely. I guess I was a bad boy, but I thought it was funny. I break myself up sometimes. Some say I'm a legend in my own mind.

Love it ... keep it flowing!

I believe mods should make the rule to provide datapoint for anyone who posts on their approval....I don't think this site is for bragging about their success/approval or filling up with their brag, rather to help and get help. If they only brag about their approvals and if we only congratulate them then it would only fill up pages and will not help anyone. Are we are here only for bragging or filling up pages with congratulations, or get help or help people?? What is main goal of this site or to come on to this site??

As already explained, under the new arrangements, the mods (who are generally responsible for many forums on all different subjects) are only there to enforce Terms of Service, and that doesn't include "You must provide data points when posting in the Approvals subforum"
Note the rubric says: "Getting approved for a new credit card can be so exciting, you want to tell the world about it. This is your place to do just that. Tell us about your credit card approvals!" Which can certainly include "bragging" or at least celebrating success without more details.
I guess this could be modified but no idea if that would have any impact. As also suggested, PM/reply to the poster asking for data points if you are interested.
