Moving Limits Between NFCU Credit Cards Question

So I just passed my 91/3 w/ my NFCU Cash Rewards ($500) card a few days ago.

Thanks to the great info on this amazing forum, I submitted a CLI request for 10k, applied for an NFCU Flagship and a couple days later a 15k LOC.

Results:

CashRewards CLI request: Denied - balance still $500.

Flagship application - Approved w/ $15k SL.

CLOC - Approved with $15k line.

After reading a bunch about NFCU it sounds like they're cool with moving limits between their CCs.

I believe it makes sense to move $4500 from my Flagship to my CashRewards - do you agree? If not, why not?

Assuming the concensus is that it makes sense to do that, how do I go about it. Is there a link hidden somewhere on the site? Do I need to call them? Will their messaging system work to achieve this?

Also, someone mentioned once the Cash Rewards card limit is $5k (after moving $4500 from Flagship to it), then I should be able to make the card a Cash Rewards Visa Signature card. Do I need to request that be done once it's $5k or doees that happen automatically?

Any input/advice is super appreciated!

Congrats! That's fabulous!  00congratulationss.gif

Yes they are good about moving limits save from Amex to Visa.

You can call them or send a secure message- they are very nice & will be happy to assist you.

I think it's a good idea if it makes sense to you. If you plan a large expense & need the added uti padding, I would keep the higher limit new card but if not, shift away.

Once your CR is $5000 they should ship out a VS card automatically.

AJC is experienced with shifting Navy limits so perhaps he will stop in.

Re: Moving Limits Between NFCU Credit Cards Question

My understanding was that you couldn't PC from AmEx to Visa or MC, but could move limits.  Am I coupletely mistaken on this point?  I have a NFCU AmEx with a $15,000 CL that is only really useful to me in UTL padding.  I was hoping to move most of its limits to another NFCU card that is more useful to me.  I may have to rethink my plans.

While I admit, I haven't actually tried it, I have both the CR & Amex, the DPs I've read say it's so.

I had inquired about it on the forum, sometime back. AJC was able to do it but it seems to be outside the norm.

Not impossible but requires some fancy dancing musicElton.gif& possibly a compelling reason for them to do it.

You rang?Smiley Wink

Ok, my understanding is their is no pcing to or from the Amex cc, for now anyway. As for moving limits. It has and can be done but though we have seen more recently, i believe it still is a case by case decision. I think sending a secured message explaining what you would like to do and why is best method because you can write out precisely why you would like to move limits. Purely conjecture on my part vut i believe good payment and usage history helps your case. If i had lates or just not being responsible with their credit lent how could i expect them to do me a favor?

Anyhow, in my case since i felt i was at max exposure for life, really wasnt using my Amex or Plat , i decided i wanted to simplify and move everything to my Cash Rewards. They were happy to do so. My Amex had a $3800 limit. I missed my Plat and well lets just say baby's come home to DaddySmiley Wink.

Good luck on your request. If you call in, explain as well why you would like to do so. They seem to really want us to be happy with our products, makes us more productive members imo. Any other questions feel free to askSmiley Wink
