Moving limits with Chase?

Re: Moving limits with Chase?

Why are you so interested in moving limits? Gaming the Fico score to have low balances report? Save $$?

If you're trying to save money you need to use a BT calculator, paying two fees upfront can't be a smart idea, vs paying compounded balance interest. A 3% fee on 1000 is 30. A 4.99 apr is 4.10 a month. Giving a whole 6-7 months before you hit the same fee....

Re: Moving limits with Chase?

Even if it takes a month. It would still not hit my apr (assuming I do it instantly as it hits and then bt to chase) for discover would it? I'm obviously looking for a card outside of the slate but I don't see many good options

Re: Moving limits with Chase?

Alright guys logged in to Discover to see what my fees would be and I got an offer for 12 months APR at a 3% fee which is great so I don't need to sign up for something new

Re: Moving limits with Chase?

Rewind. Reverse. Go back ten spaces.
I don't think you understand how interest on credit cards work.

How much are you trying to move? Because a balance transfer fee is INSTANT . 15% apr on 4k is $49 A MONTH. bt fee of 3% on 4k is 120, IMMEDIATELY. Do it again back to chase? 120 AGAIN. 240...240!!!!

What's your goal here and how much are you trying to transfer.

Re: Moving limits with Chase?

It says 12 months 0% APR Promo

3% FEE which I understand is instant.  But as long as I make the minimum payment and pay it off in 12 months (will have it paid off in less than 2) I'd be fine correct?

Re: Moving limits with Chase?

Stop EVERYTHING if your paying this off in two months.

In your next post, if you post anything at all, please answer the balance and apr of the card you want to transfer from. Nothing matters nearly as much as that. Nothing. Only that. Because right now it sounds like your literally throwing money away. I'm all for balance transfers, if they save money. But not throwing money away. Literally. Literally throwing money away. Just wanna make this clear. Because right now. It sounds like your literally throwing money away. ..........literally.

Re: Moving limits with Chase?

To find the interest you would pay over a period of time. Calculate the APR/365. From there multiply that number by the balance. From there multiply it by how many days you plan to pay it off in. Divide by 100. That's how much interest you would pay without transferring. Period. If that amount is less than 3%. You DO NOT transfer.

Unless this isn't about saving money, if it isn't, carry on. Forget I said anything

Re: Moving limits with Chase?

around 4600 total. With 500 being paid next friday and once my bonus check comes in within a month/6 weeks I COULD have it paid off.

Does the 0% APR still mean if I make the minimum and pay it off in under 12 months that I wont be charged interest? (Just on purchases, I know, I read the terms)
