Multiple Balance Transfers

My situation: I have two cards with my CU. One has a 0% fees and APR for the first year on balance transfers, but I can't transfer balances from the same lender. My third card has 0% APR and a small fee for balance transfers.

Could I transfer from the first card to third card and then back to the second card in an effort to consolidate?

Re: Multiple Balance Transfers

In theory yes you should be able to although will be paying at least one round of BT fees, possibly more.. Since it is a CU wouldn't worry about it to much in a normal lender I would possibly pause a bit more Smiley Happy.

Re: Multiple Balance Transfers

If its something that you do infrequently, you should be fine.  I just did this exact thing between CapOne, NFCU and FNBO.  I did it last year between Barclay and CapOne with no issues.

Re: Multiple Balance Transfers

Don't see why not .But why go through the hassle and fees right now if the 3rd card has 0%Apr anyway? You're already gonna be paying thr balance transfer fee so even if the 0%APR isn't for a full year like the second card has, I suggest you use the 3rd card for the balance transfer. Pay it off for however many months the 0% lasts on that card. (If you plan on paying anything on it in that time). Then when the 0%APR on that card is about to expire, you then transfer it to the 2nd card if you even have any balance left at the time . have you thought of this?

Re: Multiple Balance Transfers

What the last poster said: Just pay the fee to transfer to a new bank and enjoy the 0% APR.

As a PSA, this is why it is best to plan CC applications. If one has a single balance to transfer, jumping on an offer from the same bank with a 0% BT Fee and 0% APR is not going to be immediately useful.
