Hi All,
So I have a question in regards to having mutiple cards with one lender. Citi is really frustrating me since I can't change this Forward card to something a little more professional looking. Amex screwed me with the 4506-T and not caring one bit about dealing with a little bit of a difference, given that its my first year of income.
So if I turn to BofA again, what is the likelyhood of them giving me more than one card? They keep all the student cards at a $700 limit, and with the new conversion laws (thanks O-man), how will that work when I graduate?
I was hoping for the
-Accelerated Rewards Amex
-Bank Americard Power Rewards Visa Signature
Not now, but most likely one card in December and one next year?
So what does everybody think?

I have two cards with BoA but it's been about five years since I got the second one.
I am also curious about the conversion law you write about.
From a BK years ago to:
EX - 9/09 pulled by lender 802
EQ - 7/06-663, 3/10-800
TU - 8/10-772
You can do the same thing with hard work
Citi keeps telling me the new law prohibits them from converting my Forward card to a Platinum Select card. I also wonder what this means for my BofA Student Plat Card when I graduate?
Did they think when they passed these laws?

It's more a question of banks blaming "the new laws" whenever they don't want to do something for you. There's nothing in the new law that prevents them from switching products. BofA says that I can switch my former MC Plat, now MC World, to their BankAmericard Visa or MC cash rewards cards whenever I like. (Forgot to ask about the AmEx version.)
IMO, what Citi is saying is the credit equivalent of saying "My mom won't let me," when you really didn't want to do something anyway.

The new law has some restrictions on changing terms such as interest rates, due dates. Citi's policy on conversion may be based on these restrictions, but conversions are not prohibited by the law.
I would have to call Citi's claim false. The banks have found the new law the perfect scapegoat for many of their unpopular decisions.
Back to original question. I would try for another BofA card or a conversion in December.
I think Citi is especially bitter...
I might try to call the CSR out on it and see if I can't get escalated to someone.

Who told you that?
Judging from recent reported approvals on other websites, that's another load of BS that the CSR told you.
Citi is stingy in terms of inquiries upon application, but that ARE known to be fairly generous with CLs (at least relatively when compared to other big banks in the wake of the new laws).
