You can certainly acquire more than one of the same Navy card (if have 2 plats) -- but it appears to be too soon for you to app for a 2nd card. Your first is only a month old? So, just like for a CLI, you would need to wait till you reach your 91/3 (91 days and 3 statement cuts) to apply for a second card - you're likely to be approved at that point.
I agree with @dragontears , that letter is just marketing -- still fun to receive tho!

Seems kind of strange. I haven't even made a payment on the first card yet. But I really like the offer - $250 cash back after spending $3000. And 0% on purchases and BTs for 12 months.
FYI - the letter has a range for the APR, so I'm not sure if this is real preapproval. I guess I can call and ask, but can you have multiple cashRewards cards? Does the offer seem solid?
Having multiple Navy cards is definetly possible but in my 4+ years on myFico, 3+ years as Navy member i have never seen anyone get approved same card months apart or with same sub. Its not said but i dont believe Navy will allow a same bonus in same year otherwise we'd be seeing lots of people trying
