My First Amex CLI

I had been planning for a few weeks to request my first CLI on my Amex Delta once the new year rolled around.  Figured one day early couldn't hurt.

Instantly approved $1K to $2K.

I'm still going to have to make multiple payments each month, considering how much money I pump through this card, but it feels good to get an instant CLI approval from them.

Next request: around Sept or Oct.  And I'm going to make that one count. Smiley Tongue

How old is the account?
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

LOL thanks!  It was our discussion in the other thread that made me pull the trigger earlier than I had planned to. Smiley Tongue

I have not gotten any love from AMEX-
They are on my sock drawer list.

Well gee.  On the topic of AMEX I decided to take the Credit Secure plunge for 'poops and giggles' and I like the PLUS scores.  Of course, EQ still hates me, but it was nice to see TU say I have a 729 PLUS score which qualifies as EXCELLENT!  So, the verdict?  TU729/EX716/EQ654 - darn those inquiries.  For yet another round of self-inflicted pain I pulled my 'free' SW again for EQ and it's stuck at 618.  C'mon people, I've been paying you for years for SW - can you show me some love?

Re: My First Amex CLI

Amex is so picky about CLIs.

They're sticklers about giving them if your score isn't at least 680 and you have to show them you don't need them.

Low util on the card every month.  blah.

I took the exact opposite tack.

I pumped 150-200% of my CL through my card, PIFfing about once a week in order to send the message that this low, low CL is really hindering my ability to charge all the things I want to charge.  Not sure if that had anything to do with getting the CLI or not, but I certainly didn't bother trying to show them I didn't need one.

Re: My First Amex CLI

I tried that method.

System doesn't care how much business you give the card.  Pretty much just contingent upon cbr and utilization with other creditors in order to obtain it.

Also factors in your tendency to revolve a balance.  It's nicer to the PIF folks.
