@SusanJA It's still a Capital One card, it's just on the Discover network. And, the Savor card has the network on back. Such as, if you have a Mastercard one, it doesn't say Mastercard on front (the current design looks exactly like OP posted). But, the back would look like this:

Same card number since Day 1.   I dont normally look for the payment network on my receipts but the Discover part caught my attention while

waiting at the locksmith.  (As an aside this PAN  is  the infamous rumor  of  5178.  5178  is not  a tell tale sign  of being "Bucketed.")

There are different levels/benefits afforded by MasterCard.   Here is an OLD  link from MC:

Re: My Savor card is now on the Discover network?

@ptatohed It's a lower tier of Mastercard's tier levels. They have standard, gold, platinum, and world.

I think most Savor cards are World Mastercards now. That's a picture of my old card. The new one says world on it, so I think at some point Capital One upgraded Savor to a new tier.

@NoMoreE46

Now you have me reading purchases to see what networks were used. Yes, Discover showed up as did Master Card and Visa. The note was by the date and entry method (contactless, slide or dipping). Do not know what it says for using a smart phone and various providers.

Re: My Savor card is now on the Discover network?

@NoMoreE46 This had me check the C1 site to see if there's anything different on my Savor ($95 AF), Savor (no AF former SavorOne,) and QS.  I just had a lost card replacement on my main Savor about 2 months ago and it was reissued as WEMC like my previous and my other C1 cards are. Checked my virtual card numbers and those are still all WEMC and also checked a couple Savor receipts from earlier this week.  Those are MC too, so for now I'm still a happy camper.

Also, glad to see people call out the 5178 BS.  That still circulates around reddit periodically.

Are there differences between World and a World Elite that shows on back of my Quicksilver?

Re: My Savor card is now on the Discover network?

@GreatLife     Yes. If the back of your Quicksilver card says World Elite Mastercard instead of World Mastercard, it means your card is on Mastercard's higher benefit tier.

The difference between World Mastercard and World Elite Mastercard is mostly in the Mastercard benefits tier, not the actual credit card rewards or terms.

For example, with the Quicksilver, many people have had their card changed from World to World Elite by Cap1, yet it doesn't change the cash back structure, APR, credit limit, or account features. The card still earns the same rewards, but World Elite generally comes with access to additional Mastercard perks such as concierge service, expanded travel and shopping protections, and various partner offers.

One thing to keep in mind is that Mastercard provides a menu of benefits, but the issuer (cap1 in this case) decides which ones are included on a particular card. So having a World Elite logo doesn't automatically mean you get every World Elite benefit that's advertised elsewhere. So having the World Elite logo doesn't necessarily mean you get every World Elite perk you might see advertised elsewhere or that are on other cards from other issuers. Check your Capital One benefits guide to know which World and World Elite perks Cap1 offers.

World Elite is considered a higher Mastercard tier than World, but for most Quicksilver cardholders the biggest difference is access to some additional Mastercard-provided perks rather than changes to the actual Quicksilver rewards program.

Re: My Savor card is now on the Discover network?

@portlandmusician

Likely you already know this, that there are four levels of the Master Card in series. The newest is the World  Legend Master Card. My heart is pounding! It sounds so impressive.

Truth, since many of the benefits that used to be mandated by Visa and MasterCard prior to  August 1, 2015 have become optional. The financial provider decides what is a benefit beyond the small mandates for Visa and Master Card and they may not be the same between financials.

Benefits vary greatly and the tiers really are money makers because of the rates charged to the merchants.
