Hey hey,
Ugh, k, I have a Children's Place Store Card with Comenity and a Walmart Capital Ome MC. I use both heavily and recently have been PIF. I can't for the life of me grow these cards and now the Walmart CC no longer gives reward points for shopping at Amigo (the Supermarket here in Puerto Rico) and that is where I used it the most.
The Childrens Place card is useful to me, just hate that it doesn't grow but now I am not benefitting from the Walmart Card, I only get 1% now vs the 5%, what's the point when I can just use my PenFed Powercash Card?
Is it me, are these cards typically bucketed or is it my profile/luck?
Not sure about Children's Place, but the Capial One WM card will likely be bucketed since Cap One is stingy with CLIs.
Bucketed as the poster before me stated. Only way to grow or get better credit lines with Captial One is to apply for new cards with them.

after recent fall from grace: 07/3/2022
Do you have recent derogortories? Pretty sure Cap1 won't give a CLI if you've been late in the past year

I have a cap 1 card stuck at $500, it was my first card when I started building my credit. 4 years now and hasn't grown. I want to get rid of it but it's my oldest one.

Cap 1 is a tough nut to crack as far as cli's. check the cap 1 prequalifier and see if they offer you the savor one, usually the 2nd card they give you tends to have a higher cl and the savor one has 3 pct back for groceries , excluding walmart or target, ymmv.
As far as comenity, i dont know how long you have had that card but i can tell you in my case comenity rebuffed my cli requests until i was one year with them and then the flood gates opened, ymmv

Each person has his/her own financial situation. Just do not get influenced by what others say. You do whatever that is good for you to build a solid credit foundation. Reward is only secondary. When you establish good credit, door will open to you to get better cards from better CC banks.
Good luck.
I can't say on the Children's Place card, but the Capital One is probably stuck for good. People who actually grow C1 cards that start low are few and far between.
It sounds like the C1 Walmart card isn't much use to you anymore anyway, so I'd just close it. If the Children's Place card is still a good one for you, then keep it. It may not grow, but if you use it and PIF anyway, it doesn't really matter.
Good luck!
