My next card help

I've been in rebuliding mode since 2008. Just pulled my reports and got my fico for 2012. TU fico is now 744, EQ is 685(still has a expired judgement(5 years old in NY)), going to mail EQ and ask them to drop that), anyway, TU and EX are clean now, 2.5 yrs history, aaoa 1.5 yrs. 4% util, 2 inq on TU, EX, 1 inq on EQ.

3 tradelines: orchard opened 7/09 200 limit, cap1 opend 5/11 3500 limit. auto loan opened 10/10 20,000 from credit union.

my goal is to get amex blue cash everyday, but i know i am not there yet, i think i am still 1.5 yrs away for that, will wait until 4 yrs of history to give it a try.

and now, i've been recieving BOA cash reward visa offer for a quite sometime, do you guys think its a good 3rd card for me? i am looking for a prime bank cc. do we consider BOA as prime bank??? and does it pull only EX in NY? if so, i might try to apply it now since it has $100 reward sign up bonus. with my TU fico 744, i am thinking my ex score won't be too far off from that, thank god.

Re: My next card help

First off congrats on getting your scores up! BOA is considered a prime bank - it's one of the "big four" banks along with JP Morgan Chase, Citigroup, and Wells Fargo. Their Cash Rewards card is a great prime card to start out with. It's much improved over the last version which was just 1% back. I believe it is now 3% gas, 2% groceries, 1% everything else up to $1500 per quarter. I started out with a BOA student card, 2nd card was their Cash Rewards card, and they helped me build a nice credit history so that I could qualify for more desirable cards later on. Best of luck!

Edit: Just wanted to add they have always pulled Experian for me. And if you take a look at the rewards this card is not far off from the Amex BCE Smiley Happy

Re: My next card help

Just a quick update, I called BofA  today to apply for the cash reward card. 1,2,3% and $100 cash bonus. He couldn't tell me which report they pulled, but it should be either EX or TU (if it was EQ, i doubt they even gonna approve me). I got instant approve for $5000.  What a great feeling, Now I am 4 for 4 since rebuilding

Based on the information you provided I would apply for the BCE card. Even though you don't know your EX Fico I would say it would be close to your TU score since they are both clean of any negatives. In other words your chances of being approved for the BCE is good at this time. Worst case scenario if you don't get approved for the BCE you can always call to recon to start with a smaller limit and/or ask to be approved for the Zync if you are trying to get in with Amex.
