Mypoints visa - comenity- severing ties

Just got a letter in the mail today that Mypoints and Comenity are calling it quits.  Cards will be shut down at time of expiration. 

Just when the going was good.  recently got it up to $15K.

At least they aren't immediately shutting them down.. they still want some use.  Too bad they didn't just reissue them under their own bank.

Well, that's now three commenity cards of mine who've ended their relationship with Comenity. Got 3-4 more to go, I guess.

Too bad that you cannot move CL with them. I guess they are losing the rewards program like candies.

hello folks well have a bad news for all MP Visa Holders just got a love letter from comenity which says My Points Visa program is ending and the MP Visa would be close on August 31st 2016 there goes my 6 years old trade line next could be sportsman guide visa sorry for the braking news

You may have received a letter from Comenity Capital Bank regarding your MyPoints Rewards Visa card. This message is intended to clarify certain terms related to the wind-down of the MyPoints Rewards Visa program effective as of August 15, 2016.

You may still use your Rewards Visa card to make purchases until the expiration date posted on your card. However, the ability to earn Points for such purchases will end on August 15, 2016. Points earned by August 15, 2016 will be posted to your MyPoints account by August 17, 2016.

If you would like to close your Rewards Visa account at Comenity Capital Bank sooner, please contact the bank by using the customer support number posted on your card.

Please refer to the MyPoints Rewards Visa card terms (previously provided by Comenity Capital Bank) for additional terms regarding your Rewards Visa account.

NOW MY CONCERN IS READ THIS LINE you may still use your Rewards Visa card to make purchases until the expiration date posted on your card i think it means the card can still b use until it expires means 2017/2018 etc but there will be no points earning after August 15th 2016 i think you guys hang on do not close the account yet

This is a card that at one point I wanted, obtained it, picked up a few CLIs along the way, but then found better cards.

Once I picked pu a couple of cards that earned 1.75% or 1.8% on general purchases, the cash back was better than the extra MyPoints with their Visa. I was on the fence whether to close this one, and since the card is closing, that means I can move on to pick the next card to close.

I wonder if companies are starting to get skittish dealing with Comenity?

This is the only Comenity card that didn't like me and would never pre-approve me.  I still get emails on the Red Roof Inn Visa pre-approval and won't take it.  Went from 12 Comenity cards to 2.  Sportsman's Guide Visa and Total Rewards MC.  The only reason I keep the Total Rewards is because of the new card with the chip.
