I am trying to find out if NASA FCU is still a soft pull if you apply for a credit card. from what I've read you open an acount and yoy can apply same day as a soft pull? Can someone give me insight that is recent. I'm looking into the card but don't want to do any hard pulls.

You might want to consider just staying away from them for now, there are many reports suggesting they've gotten cranky these past few months.

Well, NASA uses a FICO 04 score, so its important to have no credit applications for at least 6 months in order to optimize that score. Recent cards can really tank 04 scores.
In the end, if you do use a HP its not the end of the world.
They have nerfed (oh sorry, "improved") the major credit card so it's now a vanilla 1.5% card. And at least towards the end of the MyFico rush, the high SL seem to vanish as well. So while it's probably a higher SL than many Shopping Cart Trick cards, it may not be all that worthwhile even if it is still a SP.

It still has a space shuttle image on it. That is reason enough to get the card.
Though there are much better ways to get a $30k+ credit limit card, if that is your thing. American Express, Discover, FNBO, NFCU ...
Thanks everyone for your responses. I was interested to see if I could add a card without a hard pull and have a decent sl. I'll continue to weight a day or two and decide whether to do it.

No one has mentioned this but if those scores in your signature are accurate then they probably are a bit low for NASA's underwriting.
