NASAs denial letter

FYI....  While I just received a 30k cc,  I was also denied a LOC and I wanted to pass along to you their reasons to help those of you who are going to apply.  The letter states the following

:

1)  Too many inquiries in the past 12 months.---  I have one from  Chase in June of this year.

2)  Too many accounts recently opened. --- Again,  the only acct opened was Chase.

3)  Length of time accounts have been established.--- True,  Chase acct is only 3 months old.

Experian was SP'd on 9-23-14 and it appeared that they used the same report for membership,  cc and loc.  Credit score reported in the letter was  812.

I am very happy with my 30k cc and I hold no ill feelings toward NASA with their denial.  The info I give here is to help others who may be thinking of applying.  Good luck to those who do.

Edit:  Forgot to add,  letter also states excessive revolving credit.

Re: NASAs denial letter

Let me get this straight.

You have one card, that's 3 months old?

And based on a one-account/three-months of history file, NASA granted you a 30K credit card?

This just goes to show that they're literally spinning a wheel to see who gets a card and at what limit.

No,  I am sorry if I mislead you.  My history is over 22 yrs,  my aaoa is 6 yrs.  I am only telling you why they denied me,  was on those 3 items.  Hope this explains it better.

Re: NASAs denial letter

I really think they have tightened up the requirements after initial approvals.  I could be wrong, but a CU only has so much money they can lend.  The people that got approved with 620 score range got through the cracks early.  Just could be my take.  Waiting to see score on my denial letter if it is enchanced or true experian.

Edit: for reason not insulting the person that got in at low scores, happy for you, which I could of got approved at that apr!  Just my obvervations...  It could be spin the wheel on who to approve and the underwritter that manually reviews it too, who knows.  Wild ride it has been on who has been approved and not approved.

Re: NASAs denial letter

I thought that I read here or maybe on CreditBoards; that the maximum exposure for NASA FCU is $50,000. Did you try to get another 20k+ for the PLOC? Perhaps you could recon for  20k and still get approved. I know it wasn't one of the reasons stated on your denial but I am curious. Congratulations regardless; I'm hoping for PLOC over the credit card myself. Great limit btw!

I applied for a 30k PLOC,  but they denied because of current excessive revolving credit.

Same reason for my PLOC denial.  They threw in "unacceptable references" as well - probably just to throw me off.
