NFCU: Anyone else get $1K CL on first card?

Don't get me wrong, I am glad to be a member of NFCU with all the positive things said about them on here.

And no, I wasn't expecting a $15K CL or a $25K CL.

But with my numbers I wasn't expecting $1K CL either. Smiley Very Happy

At @Anonymous 's suggestion to another, I did send a SM to see if they can up the CL to take advantage of a BT. (still awaiting a reply)

Was wondering if anyone else's first go round with NFCU got them a $1K CL and if so, were you surprised about it being that low?

Re: NFCU: Anyone else get $1K CL on first card?

Ha! My 1st NFCU card was 700. No, I wasn't really surprised, as I had done my research here and knew they are big on relationships. My 91/3 is next month so we'll see what happens.

Re: NFCU: Anyone else get $1K CL on first card?

Didn't happen to me, but DID happen to DW.

Her first NFCU card was a $500 platinum.  Smiley Indifferent

That was January of 2018.

...currently, it's CL is $16,500.  Her Cash Rewards is now at $21,000 and her Flagship is at $24,500.

Be patient.  Pay your bill on time.

It'll grow.  Smiley Wink

Re: NFCU: Anyone else get $1K CL on first card?

My first card cash rewards was 1k, then at my 91/3 mark I got my second card flagship at 24.5k. Also upped the cli to 3k for cash rewards.

Re: NFCU: Anyone else get $1K CL on first card?

I got $1k and boy was I pissed.

Everyone calmed me down and they were right about growth.

within a year I ended up with almost $50k total CL!

Re: NFCU: Anyone else get $1K CL on first card?

I only started with $500 on a Cash Rewards. DW started with $700 on a Cash Rewards. Having said that, I opened a savings and checking account there and am slowly building savings up. I've switched one of our direct deposits to go there. 91/3 comes up for me in about 45 days. So fingers crossed that I'll get some of the love others on here get. I will say that I think a problem for me is that my highest limit at that time was $3100 on a Cap One Venture One. I've since obtained a $6500 SL on a Visa Signature card from my current long term bank, Wells Fargo. It hasn't reported yet, but I'm hopeful when it does, my SL in the future will grow to more mature levels.

Re: NFCU: Anyone else get $1K CL on first card?

1st card: Secured nRewards 1K limit.  (6th statement just cut yesterday) hopefully it'll graduate soon, keeping my fingers crossed.

2nd card:  Go Rewards approved 15K on 3.19.20 and I sent a SM a couple days ago to PC the card to More Rewards.  Said I will receive the new card in 7-10 business days, however, I can start earning rewards as a More Rewards card immediately.  Don't have to wait until I physically have the card in hand.

Hang in there for a few months, it'll grow, especially with the second+ card.
