I am almost to the 3 statement/91 day limit for a NFCU GoReward Card that I opened a few months back. $1K starting limit (which is my lowest card). I'm tempted to either CLI for the full 25K or apply for a 2nd card and hope for a high limit as I've read that this is a good possibility. What is more likely?
I realize that YMMV, but curious what the experts have to say. I am at 684 - EQ, 698-TU, 703-EX FICO scores. I have a few baddies in the past from 5 years ago that will drop off in the next 1.5 years.
I'd also like to minimize hard pulls, but for a 25K starting limit on a new card, it would be worth it. Thoughts? Also, which NFCU cards are easier to qualify for than others vs. ones that are more likely to be declined?
Thanks AverageJoe.
Question for you - from an order of operations perspective, would it make sense to apply for 2nd card and then CLI? I'm guessing the CLI on my 1st card will be capped at like 3x of my starting limit of 1K?
Pretty sure the highest CLI is twice your SL resulting in 3x your limit total.
Opening a new card should get you a much larger limit.
I put $6k through my $1k card and got a $2k cli for a total of $3k CL.
I opened a new flashship 92 days after my first card and got a $20k SL with a lower fico and a lower internal score (333).

DON'T WORK FOR CREDIT CARDS ... MAKE CREDIT CARDS WORK FOR YOU!
Interesting that Flagship may be harder to qualify for than the Platinum. Does Navy allow you to upgrade a card from one to another? (I have GoRewards today, so wondering if Flagship would be duplicative, but better)

You can pc between cards , not 100% sure on FS as it has an AF, but most likely if your credit limit supports FS and Navy approves it. Just remember, pcing between cards sometimes might csuse a change in apr rates so you could realistically go from a low apr to a higher apr or vice versa. Just ask @Anonymous
Understatement of the century.
11.4 -> 17.24% going from cashRewards to More Rewards. I never should have agreed to it.
You actually should request the CLI first if you are wanting one on that card. Navy tends to max out your internal limit when they approve you for additional cards which could mean the CLI gets declined and you waste the HP. It has happened to plenty of members here who submitted for a CLI first, which went to review, and then they applied for a second card which got instantly approved. When the review came back, they were told they were at their maximum internal limit.
You can PC between cards but I believe to get a Flagship, you need to have the other card for over a year since it has an AF. I wouldn't PC to that card though because it has a massive SUB that you'll miss out on.
