NFCU CLI

Now I'm nervous. Asked NFCU for CLI upon activation of a new card and got the "We'll review and let you know  in 3 days" response. Smiley Surprised Should I forget about it or stay hopeful?

Re: NFCU CLI

Update:  I couldn't wait 3 days.  I called and said "Oh I thought I was told 3 hrs."  They did ask me if I wanted emergency consideration and I said no so as not to seem desperate.  They then said 2-3 days is the standard consideration time for CLI.  I still don't know but I feel better.  Will let you guys know how it comes out!

Re: NFCU CLI

3 days is the standard time with NFCU for any type of credit app or increase. Per my conversation last Friday with a CSR: Sometimes when they put in your cli request, the system automatically lets the CSR know what they can increase you to, so they do it on the spot, otherwise the request is sent to the 'Lending Committee'. Either way, 3 days is not a bad/abnormal sign...hth

Re: NFCU CLI

Good luck!  Keep us posted.

By the way, how long have you had your card before requesting a CLI?  I'm trying to wait 6 mos., but I've got an itchy CLI-trigger finger.  Smiley Very Happy

Re: NFCU CLI

I did mine CLI after about 2 months because they were running a BT special...so they increased me by $2500 to offset the BT request.

Re: NFCU CLI

Fresh out of the envelope!  I told the CSR that I was considering a NAV line of credit vs CLI for home improvements.  I just went for the increase.  I'm reaching though. 10K CL asked for another 10K increase hoping we could settle somewhere in between.  Keep you posted.

Re: NFCU CLI

Regnlor,

You may try to open up 2 other products. I did the Visa, the next day I did the MC, and 1 week later, I opened up a LOC line of credit. They were so generous and supportive, I moved all of my banking with Navy Federal.

Re: NFCU CLI

Great advice as usual phumanr.  Do you think they would do another inquiry?  I believe they pulled my EQ which was 649 so its taken one hit already.  Are they really that generous with the CL's or are your scores generating lots of love?

Re: NFCU CLI

So, it's a no go on the CLI.  They asked that I use the card some and try again in 3 months but this is the highest CL I have and my scores are not breaking any records right now.  I'm shooting for the 700 Club Smiley Very Happy      TU 624 EQ 649 Exp 663
