Re: NFCU GoRewards App

love NFCU! they approved me for 2500 instead of having to move credit lines around!

I'm no CA but IMHO what is going on is if it has not been at least three months since your last CLI or new card and that CLI was a counter offer or hard pull then you are at your internal cc limit with NFCU based on your profile. If you apply for a new one their computerized underwriting system will tell them no and they cannot override it. However it allows moving of credit lines to stay at the total number.
I believe it is a good idea to accept or request the movement of the line because the computer underwriting system is likely to give you the same limit on both cards once they are established. Therefore giving you double the total credit line. Also it creates an opportunity to get both cards to 25k on SP CLIs then move lines around to end up with a card at 50k or say one at 49 and one at 1 that you can then continue to sp CLI.

This is extremely interesting to me. I just got my Flagship Visa about a month ago; I was initially approved for $5k, SMed and got a call telling me I got approved for $20k, so I gladly took that! I saw the goRewards promo and have read about a lot of people's success with 2nd cards, I apped on Saturday, got the pending review reply, then got a message saying my review was in process and would take one business day. I have a fraud alert on my CBRs, so I figured I had to call in and do my verification questions. I called today and they asked if my app was a duplicate, I explained no. They said they had no update and for me to wait until tomorrow. I definitely think they're swamped with the promo. I'm hoping I get an approval, if I don't I'm going to try a recon via SM, and worst case scenario, I'll try doing the CL swap from the Flagship, but boy I sure do like that nice fat $20k number LOL hoping I won't need to tap into it.

My highest CL before NFCU was $9k, so I was in shock & awe to get into the 5-figure club in such style. I'm super happy with NFCU for that reason alone. Fingers crossed on my goRewards app!

How long have you had the 1st one and how long on the 2nd? I'm curious if this matching CL theory is accurate or not.

Re: NFCU GoRewards App

Got the call for them to do my fraud alert verification, they said review would take 24-28 hours, just looked online and I got APPROVED for $5k on my second card! WOOOOOO! I'm going to SM them and see if I can squeeze a higher limit out of them, if not I'll just luv button the day away periodically for the next few months. Pretty exciting!

OH, AND I got a lower APR than I did on the Flagship Visa I just got less than a month ago! Smiley Happy
