NFCU NavChek

For all the members who have experience using NavChek, do I have to use it once to get it reporting to the CRAs? I've read posts from members stating their NavChek did not report until it was used. Also curious how everyone uses their NavChek. Write regular checks or Navcheks, ATM withdraws, POS debit transactions... Thanks!

I havent even used mine yet and its reporting on all 3 already, so most likely you don't have ot use it for it to report.

As far as usage, I havent read much but I do have chekcs that I can write against it.

Re: NFCU NavChek

Glad to hear yours is reporting despite the no usage. I didn't want to use mine so soon, but do want it to report. I ordered the Navcheks as well in case I need to use them. If you use the specific NavChek does it still deplete the checking first then dip into the LOC? Or since we use the specific check for the LOC does it go straight to NavChek to get the funds?

Re: NFCU NavChek

If you use the NavCheck checks, it depletes from the NavChek account only.

Re: NFCU NavChek

That was my assumption (why else offer specific NavChek checks) but when speaking with a NFCU csr today I was told that even when one uses the NavChek check the checking account is automatically overdrafted up to the available balance and the uncovered amount of the NavChek check is funded via the LOC. I'm hoping this csr simply was misinformed.

Re: NFCU NavChek

I can confirm that if you actually use a NavChek check, then the funds are withdrawn directly from your NavChek account and not your checking account. If you use your debit card or just check from your checking account and overdraw, then of course funds are withdrawn from your checking account and the remaining balance is withdrawn from your NavChek account.
