Navy Ferderal Credit Union (NFCU) offers three different rewards cards - Cash Rewards, GO Rewards, and nRewards. I'm going to be applying with NFCU for my next card, so I was wondering if anyone has seen or done any comparisons among the different reward programs and can help me highlight the differences and make a decision as to which one will be my next card?
(edit)
Thank you to everyone who pointed out (correctly) that there is no 'best' card - I typed the original post after a night of very little sleep staying up with a sick family member, mea culpa
A better question - can anyone help me compare and contrast so as to make an informed decision?
Thanks for your time reading and for any feedback you may have! ![]()
As with many things in life, there is no universal "best" card.
Your individual situation and what you want in a card will determine which one would be 'best' for you.
It's like ice cream. If you ask me which one is best, Chocolate.
As others have said, it's dictated first and foremost by personal preference and ability to utilize the benefits. From my research, I have found the goRewards to be somewhat limited in redemption, while the vast majority of folks are very pleased with cashRewards redemptions (any amount, any time, directly to your account). Also, the Flagship is a good option for people who travel somewhat frequently.
I like the cash rewards cards. I'm not the biggest fan of points so the no minimum redemption straightforward cash back is appealing...like the quicksilver.
They aren't the best cards in the category. But the credit union is amazing so you definitely want to start building a credit relationship with them if you haven't already.
You can PC back and forth pretty easily so I would definitely go for the card that better fits your spending needs now and you can always change it later.
