NFCU question

Hi Again! I posted just the other day about getting approved for a 5k credit  card with NFCU, I had an account with them when I was "in" the Navy, they opened it for us in Basic training.

Well I received an entry level separation in basic training but apparently because I had the $5 in my savings account it kept my account open.

Am I just lucky? That they didnt cancel my membership?

Re: NFCU question

It's your money in your account. No need to for them to cancel it.

Re: NFCU question

My husband was the same way he had an account that he hadn't used for about 3 years. I found out about it when we were looking through his credit.report I noticed some PIF never late personal loans from nfcu. I called them and they said his membership was still active. So I had no issues becoming a member.through him and have since refi my vehicle through them and gotten a cc. My husband also got a cc.

Re: NFCU question

So then you were eligible. Once in always in. But don't close your shares account. Ever!

Sorry what is my shares account is that my savings account? My checking account is closed due to me not realizing I owed $34 on it but I am paying it off as a condition to a personal loan and I think then it will be reopened.
