In anyone's experience, what are the qualifications?
Do you have to bank with them in order to apply ie. checking/savings?
What CRA do they pull in CA?
What are the recommended minimum scores if any?
Util %?
This is all I can think of at the moment. If anyone can provide any other qualifications please let me know. Thanks!
they really seem to be a lottery of who gets approved.
they pull TU

What CRA do they pull in CA? TU (could pull any, YMMV)
What are the recommended minimum scores if any? 670+ish
Util %? 0-60% (at higher UTI chances of approval may trail off significantly)
This is all I can think of at the moment. If anyone can provide any other qualifications please let me know. Thanks! Income, time at job and address. May help if you carry their insurance products.
but they seem to be all over with approvals +1 to creditaddict.

I had a minor issue with them and escaped unscathed. Although I like my Nationwide card, my opinion is that some of the folks behind the card are not, shall we say, the sharpest knives in the drawer.
I think that the problems at Nationwide evolve from trying to grow into a major player in the credit industry after being a sleepy little mouse for so many years. Approvals seem to be all over the page and heaven forbid they should ever ask you for I.D.

They are very sensitive to inquiries.

I app'd back in January I think and I had a 720+ score on TU. They denied it because of length of history on my reporting cards wasn't 3 years. WTF?? After reading the stuff I've read about them recently I think they did me a favor. And if I recall, aren't their cards serviced by Barclay's?

1. They indeed did you a favor.
2. This card is not serviced by Barclay, but by E-Z Card services (they serve many CU credit cards), though I believe all decissions made by inept Nationwide employees.

I know when I call with a question they don't try to sell me junk. And they give you the 1% back religiously every month. Aside from the application hassles many people have, they don't seem bad.
Barclays? I like Barclays. Best recon in town!

Recently traveled and notified the card issuers I was going and they all tried to sell me something. Not Nationwide.
Aside from that, I like the card as well. Not fancy or attractive is the design (though mine is somewhat older), I got a nice limit and a 6 month auto CLI, but best of all, is the 7.24% APR.
With respect to Barclay's, I reconned from a $6300 to a $12500 limit with 1 phone call and no hassles. So yeah, Barclay's is OK with me too.
