NavCheck...what do you use it for?

just out of curiousity, I wanted to know what my fellow myFicoers are using their Navcheck for....NFCU seems to give out generous limits for it, so are you using it to help with overall utilization, are you using it because you need that much in overdraft protection, etc....

Overall utilization, overdraft protection, and emergency line of credit.

Any advice given is always YMMV...

Re: NavCheck...what do you use it for?

I use it to consolodate my monthly payments.  All of my bills (literally all - utilities, insurance, rent, etc) are either charged to a credit card or withdrawn directly from my checking account automatically; even the credit cards are set to automatically pay in full at the close of the grace period - that way I am never late on anything.   Sometimes when all of these things pull from my checking account theres not enough cash and it just pulls from the LOC.  Then I just pay off the LOC with my next paycheck.  The ~$30/mo that I get charged in interest over the year is well worth the security of knowing absolutely everything gets paid on time and no one is going to get a returned payment.

On a personal note, I think every bank should offer a LOC to credit worthy customers for this reason. I cant begin to say how helpful it has been for me.
