Navy Fed confused me with "average daily purchase interest"?

So a couple of months ago I did the 0% $0 BT option with navy fed on my gorewards.

However I made the decision to continue to use the card for restraunt purchaes since it is 3% CB.

This is what I do. Every paycheck I pay $200 to make sure the balance is paid off in 12 months.

I then use the card for small purchases, for exaple $5 at Burger King and $8 at McDonalds. 3 days later when the $13 for food purchaes finally post the the acct, I go in a pay it from my checking to make sure I dont carry purhcase APR interest over to the next statment cycle.

So today I checked my acct and I was charged $.08 in interest. I called in and they said my average daily balance was $5.30? I said I always pay new purchases in full before the statment cuts. They said they dont do it that way??? WUT?

Can anyone shed some light. My current statement cuts on 6/12 but they said it cut early cause 6/12 is a Sunday? I have 2 pending charges for $12 total. Confused...

I just got approved for this same card a few days ago, and am waiting for it in the mail. I'm curious on the answer to this.

Re: Navy Fed confused me with "average daily purchase interest"?

As long as you are carring a balance on the 0% APR you will not have a grace period for purchases until 1 statement post total balance on card is $0. You will be charged interest from the moment any purchase is charged.

This is one of the grate things about Blispay. The Promo balances do not affect your grace period.

this discussion may help (Read entire thread as there are several incorrect replies):

Most 0% balance transfers work in this manner. If you do a balance transfer and then make purchases you must payoff the entire balance (both the transfer and purchases) prior to the statement cut date or you will be charged interest from the date the purchases were charged to the account.
