Need Help-Huntington Rewards Question

On the alerts section-you can set one up that is:

"Alert me when my Triple Rewards Quarter starts in __ days"

Well, you always get 3X rewards in one category. So what is this triple rewards quarter??

I can't find any info on their site either.

I do love this card-so it's hard to imagine it getting better, but if one of the 4 quarters takes your points and triples them... I would be exctatic.

TIA

Re: Need Help-Huntington Rewards Question

I don't have the card as I don't live in their service area. I would guess that it is similar to the Freedom and Discover 5% category alerts. They probably mean it will alert you when the next quarter starts so you know when to use that card for x category. So if you are using it for groceries this quarter, next quarter Freedom has 5% back. As such you might switch the category to utilities to maximize your rewards to your spending habits.

Re: Need Help-Huntington Rewards Question

Gdale.... not sure why you posted that. As I said in my post I know you get one category that is 3X reward points but I still don't get what this 3X Reward Quarter is.

Culinary... that sort of what I thought. That it is a reminder. Odd they didn't say "alert me when it is time to pick" or whatever like Discover or US Bank does.

It was specifically worded as "your triple Rewards Quarter" which still makes it sound like one Quarter is different.

I wrote them via Twitter so we shall find out I hope-they seem not too savvy with Twitter yet they don't have a SM center so it is my only choice besides calling

The reward quarter is like others are Jan-Mar, Apr-Jun, etc. If you get a card today and choose a category you will need to also choose one beginning April.

Re: Need Help-Huntington Rewards Question

They respond via DM on Twitter. And what I meant is if the Voice card is like others, you can pick/activate a category like a month before the quarter starts. Say you wanted the reminder 3 days before the quarter. It would send an email saying "Don't forget to use your Voice card April-June and earn 3x points in the category you selected." 3 days before the quarter started. Let us know if Huntington says anything different.

You're talking about the same thing. The 3x category IS the 3x reward quarter. You pick one 3x category per quarter (for example, Q1 is Jan-Mar).

Re: Need Help-Huntington Rewards Question

Gdale......Right... I get that. That is what I always thought. I think it is just worded strangely.

Lavathing.... why did they singular it then? They make it sound like it is one Quarter you get the 3X.

They say "when my triple reward Quarter" when they should be saying my triple reward quarters" because every quarter you pick.

And no I am not a grammar freak but I just think they make it sound like you only get one. So that made me think one is the 4 quarters are special for some reason and then it make me think maybe they triple it.

I've come to think it is just the wording/grammar and the rewards are exactly as I thought they were. Not gonna worry about it.

Culinary.... thx. I will definitely keep you updated if they say something different.

Re: Need Help-Huntington Rewards Question

Actually... I checked right now. This is what was said.

The rewards have changed on the Voice cards. Before, the people who chose a Voice Rate card used to get one quarter per year that included a category to get three times points on. The alert was because they never received points on anything and the Quarter was chosen randomly. He/She also went on to say that there are other products still listed on their website that don't even exist anymore like the overdraft line of credit and a personal line of credit. I guess both are listed all over and neither can be chosen anymore. Lol

So..... that card actually kind of rocks. I would maybe have considered that-would have been nice to pick like cell phone category and then pre-pay for the year, or if you shooed at Wally World pick the Wal-Mart category and do all your Xmas shopping then. (Tho I suppose they never have that out in the 4th quarter unless it was truly random)

Anyway.... now I know so my OCD can rest.

You've somehow managed to confuse me and I think they lay it out pretty clear.
