Not the CSP, but the older card. I had a friend of mine app for the Freedom during the $200 bonus deal. Chase approved her by re-allocating $5000 from the old Sapphire that had a limit of $15,900. She has spectacular credit, but she also has a ton of cards she never uses. The Sapphire is one of those. I talked to her about moving the rest of the limit to her new Freedom, but before we do that I wanted to get the details on the rewards program for the old Sapphire. Everything I've been able to find just talks about the CSP. Anybody have this card that can fill me in?
This should explain everything for you and your friend...http://thepointsguy.com/2012/05/comparing-the-chase-sapphire-and-sapphire-preferred-cards-which-one-...
Very helpful, thanks! She'll be re-allocating and dumping the Sapphire.

Right, basically a 2% dining card, so not special in any way!

Yeah, the Sapphire personally is not that attractive without the perks. Good for her.
One redeeming point. It looks good.
Okay, her Freedom is now $15,900 and the old Sapphire is gone. Also had her close a bunch of other cards she never uses anymore. She is now much more organized and aware of which card to use for what to maximize rewards.

Which cards did she have? Did she reallocate any other limits or just close altogether?
The ones we closed were misc crap like some store cards, a couple old Cap One Plats, three Cap One Sparks, (WTH?), etc. Nothing to reallocate to. Even after closing these, she still has a portfolio I'd kill for. Oh, and I think I figured out why Chase opened her Freedom by taking $5K from her old Sapphire. She has some serious Chase exposure, including an Ink with a $50K CL.
Why not combine the Cap One cards?
