Hello class!
So I've been having lots of fun as of late. MyCreditPlan is supposedly going to be up and running, I just got a sweet NFCU card, and I am on the verge of joining the 700 club for the first time ever.
Now, here is my dillemma:
I am applying for a big home-equity loan in the middle of June. Right now my EQ is sitting on 7 hard pulls, my EX is sitting on 7 hard pulls, and my TU is sitting on
2 hard pulls from the last year. In one instance on EQ and one instance on EX, I have the same hard pull from the same lender for the same purpose within a month of each other, so I think (I think) FICO considers that one. If that's the case, I have hardpulls of EQ-6, EX-6, and TU-2.
I already know the answer to this question, but I am going to ask it anyway: Can I apply for a USAA card safely before I go for this loan (I am a full member) or should I wait until after?
In truth, I just need my brothers and sisters on MyFico to slap me upside the head. I already know what you're going to say.
WHACK!! Don't do it.
(feel better?)
My Turn - SLAP I hope that was your head. I understand the desire and sometimes I need to be reminded too that my credit path is a marathon journey and not a sprint.

We all need that reminder sometimes, even those who typically have more self control than others.
OP, looks like you got the answer you needed (maybe not wanted?) but you knew what to do anyway. Kudos for coming here and getting the help you needed to restrain yourself!
Just typing it out made it a lot more clear to me. Getting e-slapped helped too.
What did the five fingers say to the face?
