I guess you should start off your good will campaign to the most recent charge offs, 2018 and work your way backwards. The old ones will eventually fall off if the good will is not successful. It's the most recent ones that you will need a lot of patience to let fall of naturally.
So do i write letters asking for them to remove completely or just remove the derogs? I'm not sure what exactly to ask them to do.
You have have great advice from previous posters, but I want to chime in and give you a kudos in paying off 30k in debt and taking control of fixing your credit! 👏🏽
Ok....so 2 of the accounts that are hurting me are with local credit unions and luckily the executive management emails are on their websites. So I spent about 40 minutes writing a well written 1 page good will letter and send e-mails directly to the CEO and Chief Lending officer of both credit unions. It's a good start for 10:30 at night. For Cap 1 I think I'll have to go with the snail mail route, but here's to hoping for success!
Or go here and send an e-mail.
Simple searches on Google yield productive results. If that page doesn't work just search out the Cap1 exec office e-mails around here.
Ok, received 3 responses this morning from Seattle Credit Union. The CEO, The Chief Lending officer, and his lending manager all replied. All of them had the canned "we have to adhere to the regulatory and credit reporting agreements" line. But two things stuck out to me in the emails from them. 1, the chief lending officer mentioned reaching out to their mortgage team becasue in my letter I said I was looking to get a mortgage, and 2, the lending manager said they would make any changes if something was reported incorrect.
Now, Seattle Credit Union is reporting the CO's monthly for 11 months on equifax, 12 months on experian, and NONE on Transunion. So I thought about it for a little bit and decided to reply. I told them straight out I may be shooting myself in the foot here but transunion is not reporting any of the 90 day lates but the other 2 are but there are glaring inconsistencies. Then I immediately acknowledged the chief lending officer and said I'd love to chat with one of your mortgage lenders but with 11 90 day lates being reported from you in a row I am not going to do so.
I'm awaiting a response from them. Hopefully they don't screw me and add all those 90 day lates to Transunion. Will see. As for the other credit union they did not reply yet, although I did get an auto reply last night from the CEO saying he is traveling and may be slow to respond.

Sent 5 emails to all of those executives on the list below to ask for GW removal of old 5 year plus 30 and 60 day late payments.

My question is would you recommend I get another credit card to help build up my score faster or just keep at it in the garden? My goal was to get to the point where I could get a good reward card but I’m not there yet. I applied for the Apple Card because it’s only a soft pull and was not qualified. I don’t want to go capital one but ultimately I will if it will help. What do you all think I should do at this point?
I don't think getting another credit card will increase your FICO score.
