Neiman Marcus cli question (UPDATE)

My DW opened a card  on 3/31 of this year with a $700 limit. She made a $540 purchase which was paid off in July. She requested a cli today and the rep said the system wouldn't let her put it through. She said try again in 4 months.

Is that normal? Her current Eq score is 707. Can she challenge that?

She tried in store after the decline by phone and was declined again. Clerk said she "only" had the account since March, give it another month or 2.

They sure are tight. I wonder why? She walked over to Nordstrom and was instantly approved for $5000.

She can try a different individual but if the answer is the same then be prepared for DW to submit the request via HP.

For the most part, depending on the most recent SP (AR), if the system shows that a CLI is available then it will happen.

The $540 purchase isn't going to automatically trigger a CLI OP. It's based on your DW's profile amongst several factors.

NM will increase her limit if she calls in when she tries to purchase something above her CL. It's the most common way to do it with Neimans.

To be honest, I'm surprised they gave her a 750 CL. That barely covers a pair of shoes, and a sweater on sale there.

I'm in the same boat. NM is my lowest limit $700. Opened 3/15, called 2x. no love. EQ 756! It's starting to make me mad

I too have no luck with Neiman Marcus CLI. Some people get them very easily and others have bad luck. Now with those high scores in the 750+ range, I can't imagine why they wouldnt give it to you after some use/history with them.

Neiman Marcus has me at a very low limit, they wont budge on it. they won't give me a Sak's card at all lol. its weird the capitalone retail credit cards are so stingy with me and their house cards they are so giving.

I don't know all of their criteria but I do know that using the card monthly has helped with CLI's. Hope that information helps someone.

I used and PIF alot the first couple of months. Tried for CLI around July, no go. Still used a least once a month. let a small balance report one month. Tried for CLI Oct, no go. EQ from Myfico 758 at the time. Can't understand what the problem is. Considered closing... But I guess I'll just sock drawer NM!

NM supervisor told me, the reason I don't get a CLI on my acct (I use the card monthly and PIF), is because my BK still shows on my reports. She said I won't ever get one until its gone. Im debating closing....

I use mine pretty frequently (every couple months at least).  I received an auto-CLI earlier in the year and then I was at the Chicago store in June and they did a CLI at the service desk (no HP) it was automatic.  My favorite time to use it is usually around the holidays!  I order a bunch of gourmet food for lots of people as gifts!  I don't have time to cook most of the time.   Their gourment cakes, tortes and other treats (which do go on sale) make it such a pig feast for me!
