Congratz. What's you credit limit?
Thanks!
Not sure yet about the CL ... I'm at 20k on Blue Cash so I'm assuming they'll match ...hopefully? I'll update when I get the limit.
You could just call the automated system or go online. It'll show the limit.
Congrats on the approval!
--And you badgered me into it. I went to the store and joined + apped at the same time. Instant approval for $7K.
Then I wandered (staggered) around the store, trying to make sense of it all --I had never been in a Costco before --and went home and took a nap to recover.
I'll see you in the produce room! I'll be the one staring at the 2 1/2 pound bag of spinach, wondering if I can eat that much by the "use by" date four days hence.
* tries to imagine what $7000 worth of bagged spinach looks like *
Hey,
Congratz to you too haulingthescoreup. 7k is a nice limit. When I applied, they gave me a 2k limit, which made me really excited because my cap1 limit was less than 1k. After six moth, I asked for a 5k limit so now that's my highest limit.
My favorite at Costco is the potsticker, seafood spread, green tea, and the vitamins.
Hmmmm .... Guess my theory was incorrect about them matching my existing credit line. My Blue Cash is at 20k but they gave me $6,600 for the Costco card. Kind of an odd number for AMEX ... they usually do even numbers ... but anyway, it is what it is. I might ask them about a CLI when I get the card and activate it. I am definitely a PIF guy so I'll just start doing that before the statement drops.
HTSU, I'm so proud of you! You'd be surprised at how much fun buying in bulk can be. If you will steam that $7,000 worth of spinach it will reduce down to about 3 servings. No seriously though, I will NEVER, ever have to buy another toothbrush for the rest of my life. Neither will any of my family members.
Congrats on the new card. Anyone else going to pull the trigger?

lol, very true! As it is, I made a spinach salad yesterday for lunch that was so big that I ate it from a steel mixing bowl, and I can't even tell that the level in the spinach container dropped.
If you ask about a CLI, let us know how it goes! I'm going to close my Blue once all the points have finally staggered in, and I've managed to find a use for them, and then I'd like to get AmEx to reallocate the Blue CL ($5K) over to the Costco. If I recall correctly, they'll do that for other cards, but the Costco card is sometimes different, due to the co-branding aspect, I guess.
The card came in the mail, and interestingly, it has 2008 (instead of 2011) on it.
I didn't ask the Costco rep about backdating, and I never contacted AmEx.
I wouldn't have asked for another card with the older date, because that seems wasteful to me, and it's the date in the credit report that matters, but I was impressed that they caught the "member since" year.
Congrats ...
Congrats enjoy your new cards. No Costco in my area but have been hearing great things about them and the amex card they offer.
