So I've been reading that Amex takes an extraordinary long time to report. I also read a post that someone let their statement cut with a balance versus PIF before statement close. Overwhelmingly those that did the PIF their CC's took 2 months or more to report.
Well I did what the one poster did by letting my statement cut with a balance. I opened my 1st Amex on 2/27, statement cut 3/23 and reported to CR on 3/25. So this just a data point I thought I would put out if they want their CC to report quickly.
Good info. I plan on paying mine down to <10% UTIL right before the first statement date on the 2nd. I definitely want my backdate on the reports!

Yes the backdate is why I wanted it to report fast as well! LOL!

So did you PIF before the 1st statement or did your statement cut with a balance? Knowing this would help us know whether or not this is a valid work around to getting an account to post faster to our CR's.
It is hit or miss with their reporting. I though it might be card type but in my case, BCP opened in Dec reported in Jan. DH's BCP opened in Oct reported in Jan.
My 2nd statement cuts today and still no reporting. I have let a balance report both times so who knows what their pattern is if they have one. On another note, I did get backdated to 1991. That was my main reason for getting back with them and so far so good. I just wish they would report already! Hopefully they will send it over this week sometime.

I think so, too. My cards were approved in early November but both cards (Green/Delta) didn't report until beginning of Feb.
