I know I would have liked to know the information after I applied, so here you go:
Last early Thursday April 26, 2012 morning around 6:00 am central time I applied / approved for Chase Freedom, Amex Zync, and Discover More. Below are the card sent & arrival dates (FYI - I live in Texas). Also of note I did not request rushed or next day delivery for any of these cards.
1. Amex Zync - Mailed out on Friday 4/27/2012. and arrived in my mailbox on Tuesday (May 1, 2012) - Wow this was fast, very impressed for standard proccessing & delivery.
2. Discover More - Mailed out on Saturday 4/28/2012. and arrived in my mailbox on Wednesday (May 2, 2012) - 5% on Groceries!!!!!!!!!
3. Chase Freedom - Mailed out on Monday 4/30/2012 and arrived - 5/3/2012 - I love the Ultimate Rewards Mal
I will be getting the Gold Amex next year, so I am planning to use the Zync as a everyday card and the Discover and Chase for Large purchases and on the certain rotating categories.
All opinions and comments are most welcome on anything in my post.
This is awesome to hear! I was also recently approved for an Amex Zync and Discover More and I live in Texas. I wasn't expecting anything until at least the middle of next week, but I might go to the mailbox with a little more excitement the next couple days.
As for your question, if it were me and I didn't really need the cash right now, I'd leave the BoA card open for a while. No reason to use it, but my closing criteria might be a bit different than most people. Now that I have a couple good cards (read: non rebuilder, fee-happy cards) I'm going to be closing the cards that really go overboard with fees. As long as the card isn't costing me a lot of money I'm okay with it being open.
Since it is secured they are charging me with a annual fee of $39.00
My magic ball says you will get your card by Saturday...
