New Cards reporting?

My Cap One just closed the 11th and my NFCU closes tomorrow (16th), any idea how long before these should hit my credit reports? What has been your experience?

Re: New Cards reporting?

If you call the credit card companies, they can tell you the day they report to the credit bureaus. After I first learned about utilization I called and made a list of all the reporting dates so I would be sure to pay down balances beforehand.

Re: New Cards reporting?

Most credit cards tend to report on your statements dates, are you saying you have found this to be different?

Re: New Cards reporting?

No idea on NFCU but they seem to be on top of their game so probably 3 to 4 days after the statement's cut date.  Cap1 is horrible.  My first statment was June 24th and it still hasnt reported yet.  From what Ive read, most people seem to have it start reporting 3 to 4 days after second statement.  Some people even go as far as changing due date to try to push it to report.

Cap1 is horrible with reporting!

+1

It's usually shortly after the statement date so I too would say on an average 3-4 days!

They're too busy making their lame commercials. Although Alec Baldwin is a very underrated actor.

Re: New Cards reporting?

I just checked with Cap1 since I was curious when my card would report as well, the CSR told me that it takes 60 days from the opening of a new account for your information to be reported, then it will be the day after your statement date after that.

Re: New Cards reporting?

My Cap1 account first reported after the second statement. After that it has always been within about a week after the statement closing date.
