Hi all. I wanted to know if you any of you may be able to answer a question for me. I just recently applied and was approved for a Chase Slate card. I have not received the card but know what my limit is and all of the account details because it was a instant approval. What I want to know is I got a 2000.00 limit, but am wanting a larger limit. If I call the backdoor number or a recon number and explain that I would just like a little bit more of a limit increase what are my chances of getting it? I do not want to have to fax in things or make them re-think giving me a account to begin with I just wanted ot know if they would maybe consider giving me a little bit more credit simply by calling in??? Has anybody done this successfully before? Any information or tips you guys can provide is greatly appreciated. Thank you so so much
Really depends on your credit profile and your total exposure with Chase currently.
I have seen some able to recon a higher limit right after approval. And many others, like myself, who were told to wait about 6 months due to being extended the maximum amount of credit they were willing to give at that time.
So its really a case by case thing. It it possible? YES. But no guarantees.
If Im not mistaken, calling now should not result in a HP. But it will after your account has been opened 30 days or more. Someone correct me if wrong, but I believe thats how it is.
Considering the Slate is primarily a balance transfer card, call the recon number and tell them you were hoping to transfer $xxxx.xx to the card, but the limit they provided is too low to accomplish that. They might be willing to work with you, of course based on your credit profile/income if it allows it.

If you willing to take another HP app for the chase sapphire which is a siggy only card so if approved a min $5,000 CL and if approved you get another TL while short term hurts your AAoA builds your profile bigger and then move some of the CL to the Slate?

Yep. My first Chase card was a Slate. Initially approved for $500. I called recon because I wanted to BT $6,500, and they said they had to do a hard pull CLI request first (my second Chase HP of the day). They did, the CLI was computer declined, and then they approved me for $7,000 on recon.

I was approved for a Slate in May initially for 2000 but called and requested another $1k. I was then placed on hold and within 2 minutes was approved. A week or so later I pulled by FICO reports; they had initiated another HP for the $1K. YMMV.
CLI with chase are typically always HP's. The ones you ask for.
