New Credit Card - Wamu.

Today I check my mailbox and I saw a non-cap1 preapproval for the first time, Wamu, the card is not so great in a way that will be useful to me. But I guess it's a prime card (hope i am not wrong on this) so I applied for it.

This is the response

You have been approved for the Washington Mutual Visa Platinum® Card with a credit line of $4,000.00. Your card should arrive in approximately 5–10 business days.

Your account has the following rates:

* APR on Purchases variable, currently 14.99%.
* APR on Balance Transfers: 0% until August 1, 2009. After that, variable, currently 14.99%.
* APR on Cash Advances variable, currently 23.99%.

Approved for 4k, My highest CL ever, rite now I have a 1k secured card with Wells Fargo, 750 Cap1 & 400 Mervys store card.

  • APR does not matter as I always PIF.
  • I like the PFICO they give
  • I hate their balance calculation method.
  • The 0% BT is almost useless to me as i don't have any CL balance that I carry forward.

Thanks to this forum.

Congrats on the Wamu approval. Pay on time and they will reward you with decent CLIs.

Congrats OP. If they gave you 4K with those other lines showing they expect you to use that as your go to card. Good luck.

Re: New Credit Card - Wamu.

I like my WaMu/Providian Visa. It's my very first credit card so I value them. And they've been generous with me! Smiley Happy

Could I take that BT offer? I could put it to some good use Smiley Happy

Re: New Credit Card - Wamu.

 hate their balance calculation method

two cycle huh? Well since you PIF it's a perk, main reason I cooled apped for mastercard last year.

My balance due 7/10 is $315.92 which my 6/13  Statement Balance which covered charges since 5/16 so I'm just now getting around paying for charges that are over two months old.

What you'll find, you get your statement around 3 days after your due date, that's how they get 60 days, Which means if I pay less than $315.92 on 7/10 the will make me pay interest on the entire $315.92 + the new balance, once Ia payment due I setup a payment for statement balance  ON the due date, awesome cash flow management,
