After looking around awhile i decided to get a NEW credit card... This time a no annual fee card the wells fargo propel for 3% gas. I was given a 12k credit line just wondering if thats about right.
I have a amex platinum
A Chase ritz 37k
A Citi prestiage 25k
And a few smaller but OLD store cards ranging from 1.5k to 10k
Also between amex platinum and the citi one what one should i keep because 1 will be going bye bye this year.
Thanks everyone and happy hunting in 2016
What's your income and FICO score? It might be they think your credit is spread a little thin.
775 and 75k
I wonder if they have old data like 2 months ago i was close to 20% on my credit line and now im back to 3%
Could be on target. I've heard banks generally don't want you to have more than one year's salary worth of total available credit. You're running close to that or over. But you do have very good credit score. The reason you mention could a have someone to do with it as well. All in all it's probably mostly fair so I wouldn't worry about it. If it's really a problem, maybe trim some credit lines now, wait six months, and ask for a CL increase on the account in question.
The issue with triming is the card im going to get rid of is my amex platinum, ive got no use for it.
My ritz is what i use for hotels since i stay at marriott associated places and i hope with marriott buying out starwood ill have MORE hotels to choose from.
It came down to amex vs citi prestiege and well my citi card gets better airport lounges (i dont fly into centurion areas to often). And well using the credit for (flights) and it can be used on ALL airlines not just the ONE that you get with amex. So my credit limit wont go down.

Off topic how do you get your cards at the bottom. Not that I want to show off but we'll I see everyone else's and want mine there too.

We can't tell you that. It's all a matter of your credit profile and income versus the creditor/product's underwriting criteria. Your other credit cards and their limits factor into your credit profile but they are not the only consideration. Additionally, we are not underwriters for Wells Fargo.

You need to make the decision nased on your needs/wants. You should be selecting cards that suit you using those as a criteria to begin with. It is not simply a matter of the card itself. We can give you feedback but you need to clarify your needs, wants, preferences, proirities and any other subjective info that is relevant and important to you.

That's a good reason to drop it. What's the issue?

That would be news to a lot of members of this forum.
