I got it on my Discover More card, so the offer is slightly worse than on the It card.
What are the terms of your offer?
And so the journey of 5 months of Discover spend begins... It is entirely possible this adventure doesn't make it past April.
In the FAQ section of the Discover site, it's good to see this little gem about Discover Gift Cards. At $3.95 per card, they may be a necessary bridge to the $1,500 spend amount in 2 or 3 of the months. My regular monthly spend is not going to get me there, and if the item is not on my list yet, I don't want to be pressured into spending a few extra hundred to get to the $1,500, so these (if needed) will be banked for later.
I'm actually finding problems due to other "deals".
Went grocery shopping last night at a store I sometimes visit but is not my regular store because of a "spend $50 get $10 back". Got those items I would normally buy, and used the Discover, but that's $10 that won't be going to my Discover spend goal.
BofA has their 10% offers that are piling up, including a 5 Guys Burger 10%. So the connundrum is, use a BofA card for 10% off, or use the Discover for 5% bonus, plus that $10 goes toward the $1,500 goal for the month. Also 10% off a haircut at Hairmasters, $23. And 10% off at Sports Authority, I was going to get a gym bag anyway, was on my list of Discover spend items...

Good plan.
It's over. There's no way I can come up with $800 of regular spend to finish out April. I've shot my wad on any bills that can be rerouted to Discover, plus I'm bummed to find out, after research prompted by the Wallaby app, that I have the Discover More Cashback Bonus card, meaning $3,000 of regular spend gets only 0.25%, not 1% like the Discover it. The Discover Less card. I had a suspicion this would happen. But it is made easier to SD this card again, with the Citi offer I got in the mail.

Sounds like someone needs to go to staples.
The bonus in the mail today on my Diamond Preferred is a nice surprise. 5% on Department Stores, Restaurants, Gas and Grocery, up to $500 spend. Gas and Grocery it is. The Discover Less goes in the SD. Out comes the Freedom, since I get the 10% bonus on the 5% dining. I recently put a low APR BT on the Diamond Preferred card, $700 on a $1k balance, so now it is at about $623. I get to work on making charges up to say $900 (90% utilization) then pay just the new charges, to let the autopay pay down the BT amount and keep the low interest rate.
High maintenance activities with toy limit credit card dollars as a gardening project

Why so pessimistic? Spend is spend - no matter if regular or not. You could prepay your grocery or restaurant bills for the next 2 months or so. Just sayin'... There's tons of giftcards to be bought which seem to be made for just one reason: better budgeting ;-)
