After several tries over the last few days and getting the "We are unable to process......blah blah blah" today It went to this screen. I'm not ready to ask for the CLI just yet but I wanted to let others know to keep trying with this. For those who have been successful with this request was it a hard pull?

Other (Major purchase, home improvement, event)

Avoid future overlimit

Reinstate previous credit line

Re: New Discover feature: REQUEST INCREASE button!

Though the button is gone, there is the option in the customer service menus and when selected, it says request in process. Odd.

Re: New Discover feature: REQUEST INCREASE button!

what is a good time line to request your first CL. a year maybe? are they looking for heavy transactions to give a CL?

Re: New Discover feature: REQUEST INCREASE button!

HONESTLY, i think that option is there so they can encourage customers to press the credit limit decrease button. i am beginning to wonder about their tactics. they seem similar to cap one. i like having them because they are the best i think with pushing electronic payments, and their customer service is the best. but cashover is their main advantage, this being the best reason for having a discover card.

Re: New Discover feature: REQUEST INCREASE button!

I love a good conspiracy story as much as anyone, but after way too much experience with large corporations Smiley Tongue, I suspect that one division decided to put the luv button up, and another knew nothing of it and continued the usual practice of blowing customer-initiated CLI's off.

If you don't work for a big corp, you'd be astonished at the complete absence of communication (lets don't even discuss cooperation) among the various departments.

Re: New Discover feature: REQUEST INCREASE button!

I got a letter in the mail stating that I don't have enough experience at the current CL level which is the same thing my Amazon GEMB gives me every time I request a CLI even though my last one was like a year ago.

If it's not instant, perhaps then it shows an option to request 'further processing' which may HP?

I was hoping you'd try it and let us know! Smiley Wink

Can only speculate becuz when I pressed, got the thumbs down immediately Smiley Tongue

Did get a recent increase w/ HP, prior to seeing the button, by calling,

so I expected the poorly timed luv button request would be denied so soon after getting an increase...curiosity got the best of me though,

lucky the denial came w/o a pull.

Well, curiousity got the best of me, and I gave it a shot.  It didn't deny me, but indicated that pulling "my full credit report" would have to be done to help make their decision, so I hit cancel.  Nothing ventured nothing gained, I guess.   Smiley Indifferent

So, just to be clear, nothing lost either, like a wasted hard pull?

No wasted pull for me but still no increase.

Re: New Discover feature: REQUEST INCREASE button!

I clicked it today, and it said:

We're sorry. You already have a credit line increase request in progress.

We are unable to process another request until your current one is complete.

Anyone else seen this message/know the result? My statement cuts in 10 days - maybe they're reviewing my account for an auto-CLI? (It's been 5 months since my last auto!)
