New Synchrony Bank Message on Statement

Like Barclays did a few months ago, Sync has added a new "we're watching you" message on this month's Amazon statement:

Synchrony Bank may continue to obtain information, including employment and income information from others about you (including requesting reports from consumer reporting agencies and other sources) to review, maintain or collect your account.

Re: New Synchrony Bank Message on Statement

Could simply be new boiler-plate verbage that's in vogue now. Or, perhaps, some card issuers believe there's another credit crunch on the near horizon, and are planning ahead to limit losses.

Saw that as well.. Just covering their arses is all..  Such as requesting 4506 (if the have questions on income ) and using things like theworknumber and the likes to obtain income and other info to help mitigate risks.  Probably from the big 4506 / AA Sync thread is my guess where this new disclaimer came from, although I could be completly wroong.

Re: New Synchrony Bank Message on Statement

I noticed this on the bottom of my Lowes statement. I wonder if there is info from Lexis Nexis that they are getting about people that triggers the account freezes and that's why they have the info sent in to LN.
I am a prime candidate to be one of synchs freeze outs but a while back I put some sort of block on Lexis Nexis (can't remember why) so maybe that's why some are affected and others arent

Re: New Synchrony Bank Message on Statement

They're just adding a broad sweeping statement to the bottom letting us know that they are in bed with our buddy LexisNexis, and other data collectors who distribute incorrect information, in case we didn't already know. Smiley Happy
