Walmart is upping their game it would seem
Wow, that's great!! I just opened a Wal Mart store card too! Thanks for sharing
I didn't even notice this on my statement, but just checked this month's statement and there it is on Page 3. Thanks for the heads up!
Thanks for the info. It is still not as good as Sams Club MC.
Ron.
so thats 2% cash back on gas after 5cents off?
so average 5% saving on gas until it goes back over $2 per gallon
Only prob is gas from walmart hasn't alsways been good to me.
Currently I use Kroger 3 cents off then 1.5% cash back from Capone QS
Nice that they're implementing a rewards program. Too bad that 99% of my Walmart store card usage was at Sam's Club. The Walmart's in my area don't have fuel stations. Now that I've had my Sam's Club MasterCard for a couple of days...I really don't know how much usage (if any) my Walmart store card will get.
I need to learn to read more carefully... I saw "3%" and I immediately thought it was for Wal-Mart purchases, and I was doing the math in my head and thinking about if it would be better to app in-store or online, then I went back and read the statement again... the 3% is only for Wal-Mart.com purchases.
I'm not knocking it, though... it's still an improvement.
The 3% statement credit for Wal-Mart.com might be worth considering, but when I order online I usually use Amazon - they have the checkout experience down to an art. Also, I think there's usually a 'standing' Discover deal for Wal-Mart.com as well, which makes the Walmart Credit Card offer redundant if you have Discover.
Again, though, I don't want to sound negative... this is definitely a move in the right direction, and sometimes you have to crawl before you can walk.

At the risk of hijacking this thread, it would be really 'sweet' if Sam's would offer a little 'extra' for in-club purchases using their card (maybe 2%?), but that would make the card simply beyond awesome, so I guess such a thing can't be allowed to exist... LOL.
