New address triggering auto-refusals

I just moved for the first time in 5 years and didn't even think about the change of address when I applied in-store for a Macy's card when I was buying a new mattress. I was denied pending proof of address (which I had to wait on because I didn't yet have a bill yet with my new address on it).

How is the new address established? Is it when my credit cards report to the CRAs at the end of the month and they all show the new address? Obviously, the CRAs eventually update, but I've never been in a position to want to know right around the time of the address change. I was going to apply for an Amazon card today, then stopped, realizing the same thing would happen. Obviously, it won't kill me to wait a month if that's all it takes, but I was wondering if anybody knows the exact time frame.

whenever your credit cards normally update, should be when the new address will show.  they won't update just to show a new address.

Thanks, I didn't think they would update in the middle of the month or anything, just wondered if that info might lag balance info by a month or two.
