Re: Newbie here....AMEX question

I went to their special offers on their website and it says that I don't currently have any special offers at this time, so that has me a little concerned. When I go to Cap 1 it says I am pre approved for their new green cash card, but I don't want a third Cap 1 card. I am stuck in Limbo. I like the idea of getting a card and that it being possible that they back date it to the 1990's. I never even knew that was even something they could or would do. That would be huge!
Chase Southwest Airlines Signature Visa 18k, Wells Fargo Platinum Rewards 15.5k, Capital One Venture World MasterCard 8.5k, American Express PR Gold- NPSL, American Express Hilton Honors Surpass 8k, Home Depot 7k, Capital One Rewards 3.75k, Wells Fargo PLOC 10k. all 3 scores 735-740.

Re: Newbie here....AMEX question

Don't be scared. I would apply now and if denied go for reconsider. Won't case you can find out what issues they have with you. Also you will have inquiry. But you will probably okay when charge offs fall off. By then inquiry won't count either. So go for it. Post here if any problems. Also apply zinc if really worried

Ha, I never had any special offers either... They likely won't be able to match you with offers if you're opted out.  There have been users on this forum that I encouraged to wait for 6 months before apping... itch got them and the apped, and were approved. I think you should go for it.

While they will backdate, the history boxes will not fill in during the vacant period. The backdating could help your AAOA increase as well.

So, should your lender pull a full credit report on you, they will only see "reported history" from the new issue date forward. Your "prior history" will remain with your closed card. Amex will also issue you a new account number as they do not allow the reuse of your closed account number.

Updated scores 3/7/21 TU 849, EQ 829, Ex 818 (all Fico scores) Remember the Three P's: Pay early in Full, Pay on Time, Patience
