You'll probably get different opinions about this.

I consider gardening as letting all the accounts I currently have sit and age and not look to add any credit. For example my youngest card just turned 6 years old.

From a BK years ago to:
EX - 3/11 pulled by lender- 835, EQ - 2/11-816, TU - 2/11-782

"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they've made a difference. The Marines don't have that problem".

Re: Newby question

We just had another member ask this in the Garden Club thread. Here's the reply I posted, giving my take on it:

"The way that I understand the term, it means refraining from apping, while allowing existing accounts to age. It also includes the idea of looking at one's credit mindfully and tending to it: waiting for inqs to age or drop off before submitting any new apps; 'pruning' off old accounts that are no longer of benefit -- especially true of rebuilder cards with AFs that no longer provide much benefit; 'growing' existing accounts by waiting for and/or requesting CLIs -- especially ones that only require a soft pull."

(Edited for punctuation.)
