Howdy, howdy boys and girls. The BT shuffle goes on... and I'm OK with that.
Chase is not an option. (LOL/24).
Currently, I'm 5/12 on new accounts, but will be 2/12 by the first of July.
Fico 8 scores in signature are accurate as of the first of June and I don't expect much change over the next 30 days.
My current thoughts are to apply for the US Bank Shoppers Reward card and Citi Simplicity roughly 01 July.
I've got a fairly new Bank of America card (February 2024) and Wells Fargo doesn't have any more balance transfer cards... I've already got the reflect and the active cash.
I'm an existing American Express card holder, so any new card would NOT come with a balance transfer offer.
First Tech Fed is clunky and hard to deal with... and they gave DW a very meh credit limit.
Who am I missing?
The Citi Simplicity is offering 21 months 0% APR on balance transfers with a 3% transfer fee. Citi Diamond Preferred is offering 21 months 0% APR on balance transfers with a 5% transfer fee.
These two Citi cards get access to a special website where gift cards are sold at a heavy discount. The gift cards tend to run out quickly but this perk makes them more useful over the long term than other BT cards. They should also have access to Citi Merchant Offers.
Citi is most sensitive to accounts in the last 6 months... do you know your /6 number?
1/6

BECU. Not hard to get into, 0% BT for 12 months WITH 0 BT fee, and tossed DW $40k on 1 card with no docs. TU was 770 F8 at the time.
There was a recent "Low Intro APR" thread that had some good offers, @tcbofade .
I was surprised it died so quickly, only had about six posts.
The forums are so quiet these days.
My posting had some cards with 15-18 months intro financing and BT fees as low as 3%. Check it out >HERE<.

Yep reddit/DOC can get most of DP's you need and various other things that has happened over the years that put the top place for information to just another place for information. Don't like posting on reddit and will occasionally add DP's to DOC so I choose to stay here. Pretty much all the information can be extracted from various places such as mentioned above and a lot of people just lurk unless they have a question. Sad as about 5-8 years ago this place was slammed. All things die with time though.
What kind of balances are we talking about? And when do they expire? What is the ultimate plan for payoff, as kicking the balances down the BT road will ultimately be unsustainable?
Tawco, Socks Bank (US Bank for those who weren't active in the old Garden Club) has been sending out pre-qual mailers for their Platinum card with expiry of 7/22/24, it's just the standard 21 month 0% APR 5% BT fee offer but at least at the moment they're actively promoting it.
@tcbofade Here is a link to some credit union balance transfer cardshttps://www.cnbc.com/select/best-credit-union-credit-cards/
Thank you, @Xanthos472 , @Aim_High , @AndySoCal , @coldfusion for the throughts.
I'll check out BECU, I'm not very familiar with them. First Tech DID give DW a card, but the starting line wasn't very generous. I already have a US Bank Platinum, and it's starting line wasn't very generous either.
@ptatohed, Great big scary ones. He who dies with the most, wins!
(between DW and I, we've got roughly a dozen balances floating on zero percent deals that will expire before they're paid in full...we COULD pay them off in 30 days or so with some financial reaaranging, but I prefer to invest and earn 16% while paying no interest on credit card debt.)
Judge me all you want, we all do it our own way!
