So i have been rebuilding fkr the last few years and i seem to have hit a plateau. I have too many cards, with too low limits. What should i do to get past this? No lates of any kind in three years.
--Capital one Quicksilver $0/700
--Discover it $954/1000 (will be pif before statement)
--merrick visa $630/2000
--Kay jewelers $0/2300
--target $0/400
--tractor supply $1188/1500 promo 0%
--Care credit $0/420
--Amazon $/400
--Tire discounters $0/800
--Ashley $613/730
--vixtorias secret $0/250.
--children's place $0/500
The vs and children's place cards have never given an increase. Same low limits I started with. I'm inclined to close them both as neither serves a purpose.
Ashley was a $1000 limit, but they lowered to 730 four months ago. No interest through October. I made a purchase in October, and they lowered limit in november. Same with carecredit. Tire disxounters has stayed the same. I use it for gas. Pic monthly.
Trwctor supply... Basically only got it to try to get in the door with citi.
Target i have for the 5% discount but it's stuck. Not even sure they have s luv button.
Kay jewelers. Was $1500 limit.they increased to 2300 a year ago. Bought a chrusrmas gift this year, pif ehen statement printed.
I woukd be fine with dropoing all the store cards and foxuzing on major obes.
Merrick. Started at 1000. Increased to 2000 this month. Refular use, pif monthly.
Discover. Ztsrted secured. Grsdustedto unsecured in february, 2021. No increases since.
Capital one. Two years old. Stsrted at $500.increased to 600 after about six months. Increased to 700 after six more. Since then, denied every time. Been here going on a year.
You do seem to have a lot of store cards. I'd definitely drop all of the ones you don't use. You have one card with the potential to grow (Discover), Cap One is most likely bucketed and won't grow. I'd try to go for better cards with maybe Citi, Chase, BoA, etc.
That said, you didn't specify if you have any negative info on your file. Maybe that's what's holding you back.
I do have a ch7 bk from 2016 and then a paid in full repo that i cosigned with my ex wife on from 2020. Beyond those, no negatives.

Those are pretty big negatives. A repo after a BK is going to keep you in the "high credit risk" category for a long time.
The low limits are not keeping your scores down nor preventing your tradelines from "growing", they are a symptom..
I am a fan of not keeping cards that don't fit your spending habits so I say close cards that you don't shop at those stores.

Yeah BUT those are 2 huge negatives unfortunately. Like said before a fairly recent Repo and after already having a BK7 4 years earlier is really what's hurting you and hurting bad. It's telling creditors that you still may not be responsible.
Agree with all posters above.
Cap1 is most likely bucketed and won't grow.
Discover is a good one to keep and it should grow after time.
Only keep the store cards you really use and cut a few worthless one's.
With the two large negatives, you are in a holding pattern for some time.
Profile will get better, it takes time (years).
No easy fix or short cut, patience is required.
@jason0618, in a post from a few months ago (November), it appears that your Discover CC limit was listed as $3,000, what happened with the limit?
IIRC, a variety of your SYNCB CLs were reduced by some form of AA and your J Crew card was CLD to $100 in April. So, aside from BK and the repo, are there any other negatives that may have popped up or may be unaware of? Not sure if you've reviewed your CRs recently for any discrepancies.
