No cash back on BCE??

I am not getting any cash back or reward dollars on my BCE. I did online chat, and the rep said my account was new, and the rewards would show on my first statement. I just got that and still no cash back or rewards..
Rep said I didn't have to enroll or sign up, but I just read in a review that you do. I can't see anyplace to do that.
I put over 2000 dollars on this card. I like using it (mostly cuz it looks cool) but if there's no real cash back, I'm better off with my QS.
Help or advise??

Re: No cash back on BCE??

It's cash back in the form of a statement credit, if I'm not mistaken. And it has to be redeemed in increments of $25.

Re: No cash back on BCE??

This is my 1st month with BCE.

I met my 1,000 bonus spend within days of having the card. I paid back 700 right after it posted. 4 days after meeting spend, I received my 100 credit. 10 days later, my 1st statement closed.

I then took advantage of an Amex offer. $15 back @1800 flowers. Added it to my card, checked out. Next day I had a $15 credit. Meanwhile, the charge hadn't even posted yet. So in a month's time, I've been given 115.

Re: No cash back on BCE??

I have a Blue Cash Preferred, which is the Annual Fee version of the Everyday, so I assume it works the same way.

Opened it last September, and I recall thinking that it was taking forever for the rewards to show up. It wasn't immediately after the first statement. I think it was well into the second billing period, although I don't recall exactly when. Now, the rewards show up pretty much with the statement (my statement closed yesterday, and I noticed the rewards were there today -- I didn't look yesterday).

Re: No cash back on BCE??

Reward dollars resulting from the standard categories do not require enrollment, but they are typically 2 statements behind. I'd wait one more billing cycle.

Cash back resulting from spend bonuses and Amex Offers are applied within about a week of meeting the requirements and are applied directly to the balance. Amex Offers *do* require enrollment.

Re: No cash back on BCE??

All Amex cards be it cashback or points have a lag time of one month

EDit to add so what you earned last month you'll see on 2nd statement

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Ok thanks for the info. I guess I will have to be patient, which is NOT my strong suit!

Re: No cash back on BCE??

It feels like it takes FOREVER. I liked using my QS1 and having rewards build up constantly. I hate how every time I check my Amex rewards it's still the same it seems!

ITS MY MONEY AND I WANT IT NOW!

Re: No cash back on BCE??

The lag is a little annoying. I've recently SD'ed my EDP, but have found it makes more sense to not PC to ED until after I get the MRs from last months's above-average spending at the higher EDP rates.
