Receiving the message the decision will come with-in 30 days is not a denial nor an approval. Many of us have received the dreaded 7-30 day messages and were approved.
While your UTIL may be high and could cause concern for an approval wouldn't be anything that couldn't be rectified with a recon. By paying off the debt in full (as you normally do) and not using your cards for a little while until the payment shows and then called in for a recon.
Totally agree with JM-AM
I got the 30 day wait a few weeks ago when I apped for BoA's accelerated cash rewards. They pulled EX and TU. Had one paid CO reporting on EX and amount owed was close to 10K (Christmas gifts, wedding and a funeral. Everything happened at once).
I still got approved with a $7,500 CL and my scores are lower than yours.
Yes, good idea. I can try that if I need to.
I will tell both my kitties hi for you, if you'll pet that sweet furry head in your picture for me.
Thanks for your reply.
Yeah, that's a thought, too. Thanks.
I applied for a card that is called American Express but is offered by FIA . . . it's called Fidelity Rewards, I think.
The 5000 was divided between two Amex, one with a 10K limit ando ne with a 30K limit. The other small balances (under 100) were just store credit cards with 2K limits.
Tazman, this may be my situation, too. My salary is not that great, though I do make a healthy income when I combine it with self-employment on the side. But of course, anyone can say they are self employed and make tons of money, even if it's not true. In fact, I lowballed the amount because it can vary pretty widely from year to year.
They haven't denied it yet, though . . . I have yet to hear from them by mail. If they do deny it, you can bet I'll be back here posting!
I do love a good conspiracy theory!
Thanks. Yes, I am waiting for the final decision, and it may be an approval. I have a long credit history, a relatively modest mortgage (no second mortgages), and nothing negative except that I like to use my credit cards for just about everything.
Thanks. Yes, my balances would not have been up to 5K if it hadn't been for Christmas and then the after-Christmas sales when I like to shop in advance for the next Christmas. Expecting & hoping for approval by mail.

A helpful suggestion (I hope). If you hit the quote button and then type your reply before you post then the rest of us will know who exactly you are responding to. It makes it much less confusing for everyone.
From a BK years ago to:
EX - 9/09 pulled by lender 802, EQ - 10/10-813, TU - 10/10-774
